Welcome to our new community website!
You may recall that an earlier site was created in 2004 on the occasion of our 150th anniversary. It is still available for all to visit at www.paincourt150.ca
However, this recently created site signals a new departure. Thanks to the generous financial support of our many sponsors and advertisers, we are hopeful that this latest endeavour will continue to evolve for years to come. It will reflect not only WHO we are today, but also focus on our history and serve as a worldwide link for all current and former residents who have an interest in their roots, their family and experiences growing up in this small community.
Pain Court, situated on the banks of the Thames River, near Lake St. Clair in Southwestern Ontario, has a rich agricultural history. The first settlers, from Québec, arrived in the area in the early 1800’s to work the land. The community prospered after many difficult years.
You will be impressed with the numerous links, the great YouTube videos, the Photo gallery, and much more informative and interesting information. We are fortunate to still have access to this wealth of knowledge that we are happy to share with you. Enjoy the site - and come back to visit from time to time - as we will continue to add material during the next few months and hopefully for many years.
